Hi! I’m Heather,
your Greens Councillor for Wingecarribee Shire

Together, let’s create a Southern Highlands where…

Young people are included and want to stay

We protect
our home for the future

Everyone can enjoy nature, music, sports
and art

We don’t just build houses, we build community

Some key priorities for our shire

Many of us live in the Southern Highlands for the same reasons: a connected sense of community, surrounded by thriving bushland and green spaces. Our goal is for Council to put those things first.

A walkable, wheelable Wingecarribee

It should be safe to get around our shire by walking or wheeling - bikes, prams, walkers or wheelchairs.

We will push for a fully connected network of pathways to help us get out of our cars and into the fresh air.

More active transport means less traffic congestion, more interaction with neighbours, less pollution and healthier lifestyles.

Sustainable housing and development design

Everyone should have access to a safe, afforable home. As our population grows, development should be for people, not profit.

We want to build community, not just houses.

That means sustainable, responsive design that connects people, ensures adequate infrastructure and minimises our impact on the environment.

Preserving our biodiversity and habitat

We’re in the middle of an extinction crisis, and regional Australia has to step up and do our part.

The Greens will stand up for protecting our amazing local biodiversity, preserving habitat, wildlife corridors and delicate ecosystems.

Caring for our piece of country means it will all be there to enjoy for generations to come.
